European KIS Contest 2008 found, evaluated and awarded Europe's most successful start-up and VC backed companies in the area of Knowledge Intensive Services with the potential to dramatically impact their industry and contribute to increasing European competitiveness and growth.

The contest was open to companies in the following sectors:

  • Information and Communication Technologies
  • Renewable Energy
  • Satellite Downstream Applications


Candidate companies could have been any of the following:

  • Established private companies - no projects, plans, ideas
  • Breakthrough innovation in technology, services or processes
  • International ambition and potential (to change your industry and market)
  • Linked to Europe (location, founders, funding, expansion plans)
