Here is an overview of EcoTroFood activities

WP1: Tools to facilitate knowledge transfer for eco-innovation
The objective of WP1 is to mobilize at a European scale the universities, technical centres and students to develop a pool of eco-innovative projects for the food chain and make them available for SMEs.

Specific objectives:
1.1 Encourage the creation and development of new eco-innovative food products by university student teams.
Create a database of new eco-innovative food products for SMEs to increase competitiveness of European food industry and agro-food chain


WP2: Business support service tools for eco-innovative SMEs
The objective of WP2 is to develop new/better networking and innovation support tools to facilitate cooperation between different stakeholders within eco-innovation and the food processing industry, as well as to bridge the gap between research/development and market for eco-innovative SMEs within food processing. Thus, the enhancement of the development and commercialisation of innovative eco-friendly technical solutions, products and services within food processing will be greatly endorsed.

Specific objectives:
2.1 Create a useful stakeholder profile search, networking and communication tool where SMEs, Universities, Research Centres, Technical institutes, Financial Institutions, investors, first users, clusters, etc. can easily connect across Europe.
2.2 Development of specific mini-matchmaking-forums to facilitate the access of capable eco-innovative SMEs within the food processing industry to investors/business partners and possible first-users, applying better and/or new effective methods of entrepreneur–investor and entrepreneur-first-user interaction and communication.

 

WP3: Integration, formulation and validation of the support tools
WP3 is aimed to formulate and develop a strategy to ensure the sustainability of the tools and services developed in the framework of EcoTroFood after the end of the project.

Specific objectives :
3.1 Develop an efficient and user friendly online tool for stakeholders.
3.2 Formulate and validate a strategy to ensure the sustainability of the services developed within the project.

 

WP4: Dissemination of project content and results
WP4 aims to disseminate the methods, tools, knowledge and networks produced by the project, coordinate the involvement of stakeholders and end-users, promote the eco-innovation approaches and increase awareness in the sector (including consumers).

Specific objectives:
4.1 Coordinate the involvement and participation of stakeholders as well as potential users in all parts of the project.
4.2 Ensure the exploitation of the project results by disseminating the main findings to Food Safety Agencies, and to companies from the food sector.
4.3 To raise awareness of the wider public to the eco-innovation aspects in the food sector.

 

WP5: Project management
WP5 is aimed at managing the project efficiently and effectively to ensure timely completion of all objectives, milestones and deliverables.

Specific objectives:
5.1 Facilitate efficient communication and cooperation between partners, including the organisation of meetings and teleconferences.
5.2 Perform administrative and financial management of the project.
5.3 Monitor progress and risks for all parts of the project and invoke contingency plans if/when required.
5.4 Coordinate reporting to the European Commission.
